Rays of light streamed through the tree tops above, making the eternal forest glow in warm sunlight. Galloping hooves could be heard from quite a far distance away, growing closer and closer to wards this spot in the woods. Finally, the creature to which this noise belonged was visible. From his hooves to his head he was very different.
The centaur, one of the only ones around Alhazar at the moment was different from most centaurs. His fur was a rich ebony, which looked as if water would just slide off it was so sleek. The fur around his large hooves was shaggy, but gave him an air of a powerful creature. The centaurs hair was black as night, hanging in a long ponytail down his back, as he sometimes preferred in riding alone. His eyes were Grey like a storm, wise but fun loving at the same time. His ears curled slightly at the end, giving them a pointed appearance. Overall, he was a handsome creature.
Seluren, took the knife that he carried around on his horse back out of the sheath, carefully testing the edges with his trained hands. They were perfect. With one quick flick of his wrist, the knife went flying to wards a tree, landing with perfect precision with a thump into the wood. Selurens lips curled into a smile. Yep, he would be ready for a battle if it came. He left the knife at the moment and tried his skill with an arrow. He was even better at this then at the knives, and could do many arrows in the time of about 30 seconds. Taking his beautiful hand crafted bow, made over a long period of time by himself, he drew in arrow, notched it and shot at the tree in one split second. The arrow thudded into the tree. Seluren grinned and trotted over to the tree. He drew the arrow from the tree and put it back into the quiver. His hand gripped the knife and pulled it out, it was a little harder then the arrow. He sheathed it and crossed his arms across his bare chest, looking out through the forest. It was a beautiful day to be practicing.
Seluren had a bag around his shoulder always, full of essential needs that a centaur as himself needed. He took a small, odd looking flute, with a feather attached by a red twisted string. He put the instrument to his lips, blowing out a soft note. It floated through the forest as if the sound would never end. Seluren savored the moment of the beautiful sound, then began playing multiple notes like these, filling the air with a beautiful sound.

Magma couldn't stand it any longer. Where was that scent coming from? The white tiger's mind was buzzing with curiosity. With his massive head low to the ground, his brick-red nose inhaled loudly as he scented along the forest floor. Okay . . . it was some sort of mammal. Big, too. A threat to Asahra? Hopefully not. He moved at a swift walk, a trot that seemed to eat up the miles like fire.
It had been a boring day for Magma. He'd woken up from his room and eaten his share of breakfast - beef again. Where was the diversity? The Sambar deer? The Asian boar? The Langar monkey? Well, granted, most of the animals wouldn't enjoy watching his large canines dig into a cute little monkey. But still . . . he missed it. The day hadn't gotten any better either. He'd been sent out to patrol the borders and stepped on a large thorn. Just like the old stories, the thing had wedged itself inside his paw, making his tender pads bleed. He'd had to lick his foot a long time before the thorn came to the surface and let itself be chewed out. Now the paw still hurt when pressure was applied to it, so his trot was more of a lope.
A new creature was exactly what he needed to liven up his day. Magma, still deep in throught, trotted through the forest. His blue eyes sparkled with excitement. A-ha! The scent grew stronger. It was defineately a mammal - hoofed, perhaps? Equine, most likely. I'd bet my tail it's a horse, the white tiger decdied confidently. Presently he jerked his head up and stopped, suprised at what he saw. The tiger was suddenly a little kitten.
It wasn't a horse. It was a centaur, though Magma, never having seen one, had no idea what this freak was. Woah now . . . who are you?

Seluren whirled around, rearing up at first. He controlled himself and looked at the tiger with grey stormy eyes, "What?" he asked in a humorous voice. Lots of creatures had asked that question before, "I'm a centaur," he said proudly, his front left hoof digging into the ground. He trotted closer to the white tiger, surveying the guard, "You are a very odd colored tiger," he said, crossing his arms, his eyes almost level with the large tiger.
It was nice to meet new creatures, and maybe a tiger could brighten up his boring afternoon, "Is your paw all right?" he tilted his head towards Magma's paw, looking at it imploringly. His father had taught him a bit about healing, though not much. It wasn't healing like the healer of Alhazar knew it, it was the healing of centaurs, kept secret for generations, only told to centaurs. Seluren moved a little closer, "Would you mind if I had a look?" he said in his pleasant voice. This might make a friend.

Centaur? Oh yeah, I've heard of you guys. The name's Magma, white tiger at your service. He finished with a bow, performed by stretching out his forlegs so his head dipped. When he came up, he glanced at his paw. Oh, the paw. Well, I stepped on a thorn this morning, so it's still a little sore. But not that bad, he added quickly, not wanting to show weakness. His family, for the short time he knew them, had always taught him to be proud and strong. Felines are superior, they had told him. Inside his great tiger heart, he believed them. That was why he always supported Ashara so strongly, though Kaylink seemed to have conjured up a different kind of respect.
The paw suddenly throbbed and magma winced sharply. Alright, there you go, my centour man. Hooked ivory talons were visible for a brief moment as the white tiger yawned wwidely, showing a mouth full of sharp teeth. Tiger's instincts are strong, and any pain would probably have his claws buried into the centuar's flank.

Seluren smiled, "Nice to meet you. I go by Seluren," the centaur let his arms hang at his sides. When Magma held up his paw, Seluren obliged by inspecting the tender area, "Yep, that can be done," he dug into his bag, drawing out a small leaf. took his knife and smashed it onto the knife until it was pulpy. He took the paw up in one hand and placed the pulpy leaf upon it, making sure he was gentle as possible.
After this task had been completed, Seluren, cleaned his knife on a cloth from his bag, since he couldn't reach the ground that easily, and watched Magma with grey eyes, "Do you like to fight?" he asked, surveying the large tiger's talons and teeth.

Well depends on what you mean by fight, dear Seluran, replied Magma. The pads of his paw already much better, like they had been dunked in icy water. He touched it to the ground a few times and was pleased to discover that there was no more pain. Thank god for horsey-people! Fighting, as in mock fighting? Of course, who doesn't? Good scuffles are always nice excersize for me. Or did you mean fighting, as in battle? That I suppose is enjoyable for me too. I hold a grudge against the Kensarians, you see. Any chance to give them scars on their greasy pelts is a well-spent time. His claws had unsheathed themselves while he was talking, and he quickly drew them back in. Now that he thought about it, he would ceratinly enjoy smacking around Koru or Kaylink. Any of the Dark Kingdom, really. His blue eyes glimmered with a drop of mischief.

Seluren laughed putting his hands upon his hips. (do centaurs have hips?) "Yes, I meant battles. They are quite enjoyable, I think. Your claws and fangs look as if they could give some of those Kensar creatures lots of scars. He said skeptically, his grey eyes looking at the sky. The first time he gets to talk to someone, he has no clue what to say, "I don't like mock fighting as much, you can't hurt anybody," He sounded pleased about this, even though it wasn't the most pleasent of things to do.

ooc: ah you lucky. It's 53 degreses down here!
ic: Magma looked rather pleased with himself. He stretched out his paws again. Yes, well - I suppose. He gave a small purr of amusement and swished his long tail happily. The tiger suddenly felt a hot flush, realizing he was terribly rude. So, uh, what about you? You're the first centaur I've ever seen. Where did you come from, Seluren?
The tiger backed off a few steps and seated his haunches on the ground, wrapping his tail along his paws. Was this going to be a story? Magma loved stories. And telling them, as well. Either way, he hoped that this would be an interesting history.

Seluren looked taken back, "Where did I come from?" he seemed more to be asking that of himself, more then of Magma. He stroked his chin silently, as the tiger seated himself more comfotabley. He paced a little bit back and forth then stopped. "I came from a place near the sea, it had no name, though." he stopped here, still thinking, "My father taught me about healing and school things. My mother and sister had died when I was much younger from a strange illness. I wanted to learn how to fight, for my father knew not of such things. So I left and came to Alhazar to learn about battle. I made my own bow and since us centaurs are natraul bowmen, it didn't take me very long to learn."
Seluren tapped his hand upon his other arm, liking the soft noise that barely came from it. He looked at Magma, "There you have it. Where I came from. Not half as interesting as yours, I'm guessing," he said with humor in his voice. Most people liked Seluren because of this. He always managed to be a little humorous, except when he was angry or in a battle. He looked at the tiger expectantly.

Wow. That's a pretty ncie story, isn't it? You were born by the sea? I've always wanted to see the ocean.
Magma scratched his neck with his hind leg before taking a deep breath and beginning to speak. I was born inside the Alhazar Kingdom walls four years ago. The ruler than was King Alhazar, Ashara's father. I lived as a happy little cub until Alhazar was killed. As you probably know, Koru and Ashara had quite a fight, ending in the biggest war that this earth has ever seen. My parents fought in it, and were brought down by that accursed general of Kensar, Kaylink. I didn't leave without external scars either, at this Magma flicked his right ear, which sported a deep notch, And since then I've lived the humble life in Alhazar. The white tiger sighed deeply, lost in memories for a moment, before righting hismelf and motioning to Seluren. [/b]Have you seen Ashara yet? Don't mean to be rude, but she likes to see all outsiders as soon as they come. We should probably tell her of your arrival.[/b] He hesitated a bit, That is, do you wish to stay here?

Seluren listened intently, nodding sympathytically at the part of when his parents had died, "Very sad. See, your story is much more interesting." he said, sighing a little. He brightened up at once, masking the slightly sad appearance on his features. "Ashara?" he said slowly, thinking it over as he did for everything else, "No, I haven't met her yet, but I plan too. She seems like a brave lioness." he seemed to be lost in thought for a minute. He snapped out of it almost instantly, "How about you take me to her, Magma?" he asked, looking at the tiger, "We can walk or run, depending on how your paw is feeling," he nodded his head towards the injured paw.

ooc: -Changes skin- Er... Nevermind. oO bic: A young Bengal Tiger trotted up to them. She had light green eyes that gleamed. Her tail waved back and forth. It was obvious she was there, yet she didn't know. She was quite inexperianced. She dropped into a crouch, watching them with interested eyes. She had a red streak running from her nose to her right hind leg. Her eyes narrowed to slits as the young warrior watched them. She couldn't help but sneeze when a cottontail got near her nose. She giggled a bit, then got up.
